Installation of Wood Rail and Stock Panels

NOTE!! THIS POST UNDER CONSTRUCTION-- PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR MORE DETAIL

If you “just have to get it on”, we get it. Here’s the bullet list:

  • Don’t overtorque the screws—it doesn’t have to hold a crane. If you use your fingers to hold the short end of the “L” allen wrench you’ll have about the right torque for both the rails and stock panel.
  • Use blue Loctite on male and female threads. Degreasing the fasteners in acetone first is a good idea.
  • On the rail panels, the brass bushings are to keep you from over-torquing and crushing the wood. It’s a good idea to use them.
  • On the stock panel, the aluminum bushing is designed to limit the compression of the wood around the rear screw. It’s a good idea to use it.

Again, thank you very much for your purchase. YOU are building jobs in America. Heck yeah!
