Compressing mag catch springs is generally a miserable task. We include a single use clip made out of aluminum with our FATBOTTOM mag catch that makes the job cake. By popular demand we've released a PRO version for those of you who do this a lot and need a tool that will hold up. The PRO compression tool is billet 4140, heat treated and parkerized, and topped off with some paracord for comfort. Between this and the MAG CATCH SWAGE TOOL it's actually faster and easier to just pull the mag catch for tuning on a build.

Ak spring compression tool
One of the most finger breaking tasks on the AK platform, Mag Catch paddle and spring replacement.i found the OCCAM Defense spring compression tool to be amazing. Strait forward simple to use , and the only tool I could readily find online and purchase with ease. Even if you only change out one AK mag spring You Need This Tool

This Tool is invaluable for the job
I really needed this tool as the Mag Latch Spring on AKs is so strong that trying to compress it and hold it in place to insert the Rivet is nearly impossible. However, the Mag Latch I needed to install was even longer than this tool was designed for. It took me ~30 minutes with a Dremmel Tool and a couple of hand Files to lengthen the existing slot. That completed, it worked like a charm.

This is a good tool.
This is a good tool, and if it fit all extended catches out there it would be 5 stars. If it was 1/4" deeper it would work on everything people want to have installed. Good tool could be great. I could not steady it on the bench, or put it in a vice until I removed the cord. This company makes good tools.
